In my humble opinon (which we all know is not always so humble!), dating is the key to keeping marriage strong, happy and healthy.
We all know that Mother's Day is a the ultimate in Hallmark holidays. For some families it's just an excuse to buy Mom a card and tell her what she needs to hear everyday -- "Love ya, Ma!" Clearly, if we're not to be cliché, if we really do want to latch on the idea of making one day out of the entire year truly special for la madre, it'd be like a day-long date for the entire family. I don't know about y'all, but my little men and my big Daddy-man are the biggest pieces to a good day; if they're surrounding me (and they're all healthy! Ugh, can we please all be healthy at the same time?! ...including teething!), I generally have a fantastic kind-of day.
Yesterday's ending capped off what was the most fantastic kind-of a day I can remember: a dinner date in the backyard with my love. I prepped the food, and Mark grilled. Before we could have dinner comfortably on the back patio, we had to weed it, mow the grass, and get some tiki torches, and put the boys to bed.
