I am a slightly obsessed with documentaries that instantly stream on Netflix. They all have a bent, and there is always an agenda. BUT! I just watched through Brick City, about Newark, New Jersey, and the current mayor, Cory Booker. Among all his accolades, he is a Rhodes Scholar. I wish I could be a Rhodes Scholar, so intelligent. Some people are able to do such great things. I really do hope that one day I will have the opportunity to make a difference, like those being made through the leadership of men (and women!) like Cory Booker. Read the wiki on your own, it's so intriguing.

When someone has enough vision to highlight what God says in His word, I will be inspired. From the last episode of season one:

"I will not let infinite disappointment undermine infinite hope." -- Cory Booker

No matter how rough your struggle is, there is always hope. Romans 5:1-5 -- "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perserverance; and perserverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

A second quote by the Cheif of Police of Newark reminded me of a passage I just read in Luke.

"If I could walk on water, they'd say I couldn't swim." -- Garry McCarthy

Sometimes, no matter what you do, people are going to criticize you. Luke 7:33-35 -- "For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by all her children."
